Motivational Interviewing Family Safeguarding

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a client-centred approach designed to enhance readiness for change, and forms a core framework within Reading Borough Council's Family Safeguarding model. This 2-day training equips staff with the knowledge and skills to engage families in meaningful, strengths-based conversations — helping them find their own motivations for change rather than being persuaded by practitioners. Participants will develop skills in reflective listening, client-centred communication.
